This includes an introduction to the study of principal Yoga Asanas, Pranayamas, Meditation, Kriyas, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Further, complete immersion into practical experiences of the concept studies, public speaking, the methodology of teaching, etc. are covered.     Course Attendance Criteria

    • A student is required to have a minimum 80% attendance

    After qualifying the attendance criteria, students can appear for the theory & Practical exam.

    On successfully passing the exam, students will be awarded a certificate – Basic Teacher Training Certificate (200 hours) by The Yoga Institute, which is recognized by Yoga Certification Board (AYUSH Level-1) and Yoga Alliance USA (RYT 200).

About the Yoga Institute

The Yoga Institute, is one of the oldest and most awarded Yoga Schools, located in the heart of Mumbai, India. The founder Yogendraji, who studied under his guru Madhavdasji, a Siddha Yogi, passed on the lineage of Classical Hatha Yoga practices and its application as a way of life for a householder yogi. A dynamic and charismatic personality, Smt. Hansaji, wife of Dr. JayadevaYogendra and present Director of The Yoga Institute.

Sneha started her journey as a yoga practitioner 18 years ago at the oldest school of yoga, The Yoga Institute, India with a year-long Teachers Training course.

She has had extensive experience of learning and teaching at The Yoga Institute as well as internationally. She has not only trained under the lineage of the Institute but also that from Sivananda, Iyenger and specializes in disease management through Hatha Yoga


Kavita has grown up in a household soaked in Yoga and Ayurveda. Her formal education in Yoga began at The Yoga Institute, Mumbai 18 years back. A passionate yoga teacher and Ayurveda expert.


Harinaam is a well-known Kirtan singer who has been practicing Bhakti Yoga for the past 19 years.

His knowledge on Yoga Philosophy is extensive and his understanding and explanation of the history of Yoga is an immersive experience for students.

Payal is from the state of Assam in India. She is a mum to a nine-year old with cerebral palsy, birth trauma and is a very vocal supporter of people with disabilities.

She is a formally certified Hatha yoga teacher by the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta. She has completed multiple trainings in yoga for people with injuries, disabilities, seniors as well as prenatal yoga. She can teach in both French and English.

Payal is also a certified Health coach helping clients with gut and hormone health, fertility, menstrual health as well as autoimmune conditions


Petra is passionate Yoga practitioner for many years. She completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and an extra 100-hour Advanced Yoga Training at The Yoga Institute under the tutelage of Sneha.
